The Royal Opera House (ROH) are currently in the process of re-working their existing learning and teaching materials to support teachers with how to engage young people in the world of opera, in addition to developing a brand new project focused on Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’.
ROH offer free Continued Professional Development (CPD) and resources for teachers and are working to ensure that their resources and approaches are both aligned to the National Curriculum as well as being made accessible and flexible to suit the needs of each school’s nuanced curriculum.
Online CPD (Hansel and Gretel) – Autumn term
There are two upcoming CPD dates as detailed below are focused on Glinka’s opera ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and will be held online.
Part one – 27 September from 4pm to 5.30pm. Bookings can be made via Eventbrite.
Part two – 05 October from 1pm to 4pm. Bookings can be made via Eventbrite.
Blended CPD (Magic Flute) – Spring term
CPD for ‘The Magic Flute’ will be launched in the Spring term with part one online on the 09 January. Part two events will be offered online and in person. Further information will be added to this page once confirmed.
